MICRONEEDLING IN BATTERSEA | FOR CLIENTS IN THE CLAPHAM, WANDSWORTH AND SOUTH WEST LONDON AREAS

Microneedling treatments are now available at our salon in Battersea where we extend a warm welcome to clients in Clapham, Wandsworth and the surrounding South West London area. This is a cosmetic procedure that uses fine needles to reduce acne scars, lines, stretch marks or wrinkles. Microneedling is minimally invasive and highly tolerable.

It causes minimal pain, and it can be used alongside a numbing cream so that only a warm itching or light prickling sensation is felt.

Our salon uses thin needles to make tiny yet strategic holes in your skin, causing light damage to stimulate healing. This is achieved by the production of collagen and elastin, two important proteins that keep the skin firm and its texture smooth. Microneedling is mainly a facial treatment but is also suitable for the legs, back and neck.

Multiple treatments are needed to achieve the best results.

Microneedling vs Microdermabrasion

Each of these treatments will improve the look, feel or texture of a client’s skin. Microdermabrasion uses a device with a rough edge, in a similar surface to sandpaper, which exfoliates the skin’s upper layers. Because microneedling uses fine needles, the treatment works at a deeper level and it tackles issues beneath the skin’s surface.

Microneedling can be used to address the following:

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Loose and Thin Skin
  • Acne and Burn Scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Discoloured Skin Tones

Our salon in Battersea can also use microneedling to support clients from Clapham, Wandsworth and the surrounding areas who suffer from a range of medical conditions, like alopecia areata or hyperhidrosis.

You will need a consultation with lash+browlab prior to treatment so we can examine your skin, review your medical records and talk about what you wish to gain from microneedling. A consultation also gives the client an opportunity to ask us questions about this procedure.

Prior to starting a course of microneedling treatments, you may need to take Vitamin A or Vitamin C supplements in a cream form.

The Process

The treatment begins with a thorough skin cleanse to remove impurities and prepare the surface. A precision-controlled device, equipped with ultra-fine sterile needles, is then passed across the skin. These microscopic needles create controlled micro-channels in the epidermis.

Although this may sound intensive, the depth and speed are carefully calibrated to suit your skin type and treatment goals. The sensation is typically described as a light vibration or gentle prickling—far less uncomfortable than it may appear—making the experience both controlled and surprisingly tolerable.

The Science Behind the Glow

The true luxury of microneedling lies in its ability to work with your skin, not against it. The micro-channels trigger a natural biological response known as the wound-healing cascade. This process stimulates the production of collagen and elastin—two essential proteins responsible for skin firmness, elasticity, and smoothness.

Understanding the Redness

Immediately after treatment, the skin often appears flushed—similar to a soft, post-facial glow. This redness is a normal and beneficial response. Scientifically, it is caused by increased blood flow to the treated area, known as vasodilation, as the body delivers oxygen and nutrients to support repair.

At the same time, your skin releases growth factors and signaling molecules that initiate tissue regeneration. This temporary inflammation is not damage, but rather a controlled and purposeful activation of your skin’s renewal system. It typically subsides within 24–48 hours, revealing a fresher, more radiant complexion beneath.

The Experience

Despite its clinical precision, microneedling is designed to feel calm, controlled, and quietly transformative. Expert technique and tailored settings ensure a treatment that is both effective and refined.

Over the following weeks, as collagen continues to rebuild, the skin becomes smoother, firmer, and more luminous—delivering results that feel as indulgent as they are scientifically grounded.

Fun Fact

From our mid-20s, we naturally lose around 1% of collagen each year, which contributes to visible ageing over time . Microneedling actively counteracts this decline, with clinical studies showing up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin production following a course of treatments
